For more than a decade we have been promoting the concept of "Stadia : The Sleeping Giants of Tourism".

This now appears to be a concept being taken increasingly seriously by Stadia owners, developers and architects. Recent developments include, for example, (1) Barcelona FC's announcement to develop the area around Nou Camp as a sports theme park; (2) De Vere's Whites Hotel at Bolton's Reebok Stadium; and (3) the Gaelic Athletic Association's popular museum at the re-developed Croke park.

It is pleasing to announce, therefore, that Travel and Tourism Intelligence has now commissioned S & A to produce a review of these development trends on a global basis. This review should be published by TTI in April 2001.

We would welcome any information and comments from companies involved in such developments.
