This seminar was splendidly organised by the British Council and supported by UK Trade and Investment. The event, attended by some 80 invited guests, discussed a range of issues associated with the use of culture and sport to help regenerate cities. Ljubljana is an extraordinarily attractive small capital city whose old town is subject to an increasing range of challenges from new types of use. Dr Terry Stevens led the debate about the role of sport and especially sports stadia in helping to breathe new life into cities. This was especially topical due to the current debate in Ljubljana about the future of the historic Plecnik Stadium.
