A consortium representing the RSPB, Forestry Commission Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage and Mull & Iona Community Trust has commissioned S & A to prepare a strategy for how best to optimise the potential of wildlife tourism on the Islands of Mull & Iona. The successful breeding of the Sea Eagle and the ability to enjoy sightings of the Golden Eagle has led to the marketing of Mull as ‘Eagle Island’. Mull & Iona are, however, a superb location to experience a wide range of wildlife and extraordinary landscapes. The study is particularly concerned with the need or otherwise of having a Visitor Centre or if there are other more effective ways of interpreting the environment to visitors.
